Aimed at maintenance staff/ handymen/ janitors/ caretakers or anyone who wishes to bring their PAT in-house. Course is very interactive, advice on which PAT tester to purchase to best suit your requirements is available.
THE AIM OF THE TRAINING
To conform to the requirements of:
- Health & Safety at Work regulations 1974
- Abrasive Wheel Regulations 1970
- Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998
- Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992
- Plus other relevant legislation
THE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course the Candidates will be able to understand:
- What is PAT
- Legislation and guidance
- HSE statistics, and the effects of electricity on human contact
- Categories and classes of electrical appliances,
- Tests to be carried out and suggested frequency
- Recording test results and labelling appliances
- Practical demonstrations & exercises

ASSESSMENT
- Multiple Choice assessment.
- Practical – Demonstration of skill.
Successful completion is recognised by the issue of a Varis Training Certificate.
