FOR WHOM THE TRAINING IS INTENDED

All users of Scaffold Towers and their Supervisors

THE AIM OF THE TRAINING

To conform to the requirements of :

  • Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1974
  • Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
  • Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992.
  • The Working at Height Regulations 2005.
  • Plus other relevant legislation.

THE OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course the Candidates will be able to:

  • Understand the requirements of the Regulations
  • Be competent with Safety Awareness
  • Identify the various Scaffold and Scaffold Towers
  • Carry out Pre-operation Checks
  • Erect a Mobile Tower Scaffold to Manufacturer’s Instructions.
  • Ensure Correct Use and adapt to Varying Conditions
  • Carry out Safe Working at Height
  • Dismantle a Mobile Tower Scaffold to Manufacturer’s Instructions.
  • Carry out Post-operation Procedures

TRAINING PROGRAMME

0900 – 1000hrs – Theory
1000 – 1015 – Break
1015 -1130hrs – Theory
1130 – 1230 – Practical
1230 – 1315 – Lunch
1315 – 1500 – Practical and Assessment
1500 – 1515 – Break
1515 – 1630 – Regulations and  written test

RATIO OF INSTRUCTORS TO TRAINEES

1 instructor to 6 trainees

ASSESSMENT

(a)   Examination – Theory test.
(b)   Practical – Demonstration of skill.

This course is approved by the National Plant Operators Registration Scheme and successful completion is recognised by the issue of a NPORS Card.
